River Basin Governance Fellowship

A prototyping-based fellowship where you work with real governments and communities to solve river basin challenges using AI, systems thinking, and collaborative governance.

The Problem

River basins don’t fail because of data. They fail because of governance.

Flooding, water conflicts, pollution, and ecosystem degradation persist not because we lack data—but because institutions are fragmented, decisions are uncoordinated, and trade-offs are poorly managed.

Different actors want different things:

• upstream vs downstream

Without strong governance, these tensions don’t get resolved. They get worse.

This fellowship trains you to:

Drawing from real-world river basin practice, fellows learn to map stakeholders, understand incentives, identify shared benefits, and help move systems from conflict to coordination.

What You’ll Actually Do

• use AI to generate insights and tools
